Dr. Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School

October 24, 2025

Dear Lower School Parents,

Our teachers, families, and students have risen to the occasion in comforting, encouraging, and helping each other through the events of last week. I am proud to see all the ways people have found to support each other through this difficult time. In addition, this week several Lower School classrooms and the office flooded. We are thankful our maintenance team responded quickly and efficiently to the situation. Our word of the month is Patience, which is appropriate since the water remediation work has been pretty disruptive.

Owlfest is next Wednesday from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. It is great to see all of the students dressed in their costumes for this fun after school occasion. Since this event  includes our youngest owl friends, please no scary costumes. Remember, we wear uniforms to school on OwlFest.

Hopefully, you have signed up for a conference with your child’s teacher next week. If you still need to make an appointment, reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher or Mrs. Butts.

Have a good weekend,

Sarah Schecter
Head of Lower School
