Dr. Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School

November 7, 2025

Dear Lower School Parents,

Tuesday at Parliament we talked about Gratitude, our word of the month. We learned that  being thankful helps us focus on good things and find the best in all situations. We started our annual Thankful List. It is in the hall outside the office door, and it will grow daily as we add to it throughout the month. Also at Parliament, we had announcements about the success of our Upper School sports teams. We are so excited that it has been such a strong season for our oldest owls. While some of our teams are playing their final games in Houston, our undefeated football team is playing here in Arlington at the UTA Maverick Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, an invitation was sent to all Oakridge families for a school wide event at 5:00 p.m. at J. Gilligan’s before the game. We look forward to an evening of food and football!

Grandparents’ Day is only two weeks away! We are excited to have our favorite friends and family visit our classes and see our school. If you do not have grandparents who can attend, consider sending a neighbor or friend. The kids enjoy sharing their school experience with these visitors. It is a special day for all of us!

See you at the game,

Sarah Schecter
Head of Lower School
